The Qpress 50 hot mounting press is a modular machine used in metallography for fast, simultaneous and independent mounting of different materialographic samples. The modularity of the Qpress 50 allows the machine settings to be adjusted for different sample sizes and throughputs, depending on customer requirements.
The base unit of the hot mount press contains a control interface and a set of molds.
It is available in 2 versions:
- Opress 50-2: can be equipped with an additional pressing station (total of up to 2)
- Opress 50-4: can be equipped with up to three additional pressing stations (in total up to 4)
The press stations are separate from the base unit and can be added later. Thus, it is possible to generate samples of up to 2 (Opress 50-2) respectively 4 (Opress 50-4) different diameters simultaneously in one device, making metallographic sample preparation flexible and fast. The diameter of the press station - each with or without chamfer - can be selected from 25.2mm, 30mm, 11 x 4 "(32mm), 11 x 2" (38mm), 40mm and 50mm . The built-in dust extractor Dust shield on the hot mount press protects the operator from inhaling fine dust, which is released when filling the mold with mounting material.
The outdoor vacuum cleaner is controlled via the base unit control interface. Intuitive hot mount press control software is operated via a 7 "touch screen and features pre-installed mounting methods and consumables, plus the ability to store over 200 user-defined programs for a range of metallographic preparation processes.
Multiple user accounts with different access rights can be created to set user restrictions, define maintenance tasks, and adjust mounting parameters. The operator can be equipped with different levels of access, for example to edit parameters and define custom maintenance tasks, as well as cooling modes if required. The hot mount press administrator account can lock parameters individually for each user. The Qpress 50 hot mount press is designed for quick assembly.
It has an adjustable preheat function, which significantly improves the sample performance of the machine. The innovative design of the mounting cylinder ensures very precise and energy efficient temperature control during the brewing process. The proven one-hand closing system of the hot mount press has been optimized and conveys excess mounting material into an integrated dirt trap when the mold is closed.
The powder is removed through the suction nozzle during filling. The mold closure can be raised to facilitate cleaning of the upper ram. No tools are required to remove the closure unit. The sensors ensure that an assembly process can only be started if the mold has been properly closed. The modern design of the powder-coated steel housing, in addition to the use of high-quality components, make the Qpress 50 hot-mount press a robust device with a small footprint.
